Obtaining StdHep

Stdhep may be obtained from the FNAL anonymous ftp server ftp.fnal.gov or via the FNAL UPD mechanism. Ftp.fnal.gov is a restricted server - you will need to register: (ftp form) or (web form) . The StdHep tar files are under products/stdhep/version/OS, where OS is the operating system (Linux+2.6, OSF1+V4, etc.) and version is the specific StdHep release. Supported operating systems are Linux, IRIX, OSF1, SunOS, and MacOSX. If you have trouble with the FNAL ftp site, the source code is available from the table below.
For stdhep 5.03 and 5.04, mcfio was split out into a separate product. You will need both stdhep and mcfio. You will also need Pythia, Herwig, and QQ include files. (See the table below.) For this reason, you probably want to get the 5.04.02 tarball, which contains stdhep, mcfio, and all necessary include files.
As of release 5.04.02, mcfio is once again packaged with stdhep. All releases since 5.04.02 contain stdhep, mcfio, and all necessary include files so that you can build a standalone stdhep.
StdHep is built with specific versions of various generators. Because common blocks, particle numbering, and sometimes routine names are subject to change, we cannot guarantee that StdHep will work with other versions of these generators.
