Monte Carlo Particle Numbering Scheme

A modification to the standard particle numbering scheme was proposed at the 1995 LEP2 Workshop. After consultation, a new numbering scheme was adopted by the Particle Data Group in 1998. The new numbering scheme was implemented as of StdHep 4.01. The numbering scheme is detailed in the 2006 Edition of the Review of Particle Physics, W.-M. Yao, et al, Journal of Physics G33, 1 (2006).

The tables below compare the PDG 2006 number assignments to previous years. New and changed number assignments are in bold type.
